Most travellers need to obtain a visa prior to entering the UAE. The UAE authorities have taken many steps to make this process as straightforward as possible. Citizens of 39 countries plus GCC nationals do not require visas prior to arrival at a UAE airport.

A Visit Visa issued through an authorized sponsor allows holders for one time entry within two months as of the date of issuance, and for a 30 or 90 day stay effective from the date of entry. A sponsor can be company or a UAE Residency Visa holder. The UAE Residency Visa holder must have a minimum salary of 4000 AED to be eligible to apply for a visit visa for a family member, relative or friend.
Citizens of one of the free visa on arrival countries can obtain a UAE Visit Visa (different from a Tourist Visa) on arrival at any border entry point to the UAE simply by presenting their passport at passport control.
Visa on arrival is issued if you are a national of one of the 39 countries in the list below. No prior arrangements need to be made and the visa stamp is free when arriving at Dubai International Airport, Abu Dhabi Airport, or other UAE based airports. You might have to pay AED 240-260 at UAE land borders.
